Why are we using gearmotors for vending machine

Some customer was confused when searching a right solution for their vending machine, today let’s talk about differences between stepper and geared motor.

Some might say they want to select stepper for vending machine because stepper has distinct advantages over gearmotor. 1.8 degrees accurate positioning will control machine better.

But in vending machine, you barely need to control things there, gear motors with low cost, easy control and no drive, although might introduce some braking effect, but the gear motor is still a best choice for coffee vending machine.

Another pointed a stepper motor can survive being stalled continuously with full drive electric power applied. A geared motor will burn out under similar conditions. In this case, you just choose a correct clutch for gear motor to prevent outside pressure from machine malfunction. Still, the stepper is unnecessary here.
